Volunteers are ready to welcome them to South Dakota and showcase genuine SD hospitality! Fourteen six horse hitches of Belgians, Percherons, Shires and Clydesdales from over 10 states have entered this national level show to earn points toward qualifying for the fall finals of the 2018 North American Six Horse Hitch Classic Series (NASHHCS https://www.facebook.com/NASHHCS/) Make plans now to see the following hitches, (in alphabetical order) in action in Brookings, SD June 23 & 24! 1. That will be the best of the best in the ring at the 2018 Dakota Royal Charity Draft Horse Show!! Their ‘TONS OF ACTON’ will ensure that this event is historic for Midwest horse fans, and really must to be seen in person. This SD show is unique by starting with the six horse hitch competition at 1pm daily, as its first class. Don’t be late! The Swiftel Center doors open at 11am Saturday & Sunday so you can visit the gentle giant hitches, and their crews BEFORE the show! Enjoy marking your placings in the show’s program…see how your eyes compare with the 3 judges! NOTE!!– Once the six horse hitches are judged in their ‘heats’ of competition, all of the one ton equine athletes will return to the show ring for final placement. Do the math...how many horses will YOU see in the ring at once? Have your camera ready! Additional hitch classes of fours, unicorns, teams, carts, ladies & youth, along with local farm team contests will provide plenty of show ring action for a family afternoon. Be sure to visit the barns after each show to interact with the gentle giant draft horses, chat with their drivers, and the crews from all across the US at this national level South Dakota show. Tickets are available at the Swiftel Center in Brookings, SD, or at the door each day at the show. Admission is $10 adults & $5 for 11 & under.
