Very Nice looking all original 1888 Trap Door 45-70 Caliber rifle with Rod Bayonet.Nice gun in great shape! One of the last of the trap doors made for the US government, 1891 manufacture date (on stock), Buffington rear sight,one piece trigger guard,grooved trigger, and trap door in butt plate for tools.The brush and Threaded end cap have been lost. Some light pitting on butt plate and trigger guard.The original bluing and case hardening are in very good condition otherwise.This is really a great condition firearm for 127 years old.Rifle is fully functional with good spring tension and lots of rifling left. ** Would take Best offer over $625.00
